Themed sketchbooks

MAYA SKETCHBOOK:

A handmade accordion-style sketchbook of studies, inspired by an exhibit of artifacts at the Royal BC Museum (Victoria, BC) in 2019. 5 1/2″ x 7″

All images started like the one above, a pencil sketch with a wash of colour. Paint was mostly gouache.

All of the puppets in these drawings were displayed in an exhibit at the Museum of Anthropology (Vancouver, BC) in 2019, titled Shadows, Strings and Other Things. My book of sketches is 8″ x 5″, 30 pages, ink and gouache. See the virtual exhibit online at shadowstringthings.com
